During cold winter conditions, the winter cover protects the charging port from ice, snow, and dirt.
Hood can be removed by unscrewing two screws. You can either choose to have two different covers or take the hood on or off as needed.
Driving on a trip or commuting a lot with fast charging the hood can be left off, while charging at home it can be put on.
